The first Tawny owlet out of the box this year put in an appearance yesterday. Normally, the rest of the brood follow on within a day or so but there was just the one sleepy owlet out again this morning. It’s quite a good size so either it’s a sole fledgling or it’s getting all the food and the others are much smaller and still in the box. I am hoping that there might be at least one more, time will tell. Last year there were two and the year before three.
Owls have bred again this year in the barn.
